Actually, that's how cura does tree support. The flashforge software looks like the Xbox controller, I'm printing with it as we speak. Cura actually uses hybrid tree support with the bases printing as standard support block and branching during the last 10mm to connect. Frankly, it's a dumb system having worked with real tree support.
