Savannah and Charleston are located less than 2 hours apart by car, they’re both among the best road trips from Atlanta and other regional cities, and they are incredibly easy to combine into one southern getaway. Savannah because it is closer, walking friendly, more affordable, has a beach nearby at Tybee, and is perfect for a long weekend. It has great restaurants, night life, history, etc. Love Charleston and Nashville but have to drive everywhere in both cities to see the different sights.
