It seems Cybersecurity degree from WGU probably isn't the best path for someone with effectively zero coding knowledge and no tech job history. It also seems it's just not the best degree regardless; a plain CS degree would open more doors, Cybersecurity being one of them. My only concern here is the time requirement.

This isn’t unique to WGU, but literally any Cybersecurity degree is meaningless to me when I’m looking to hire someone. It doesn’t hurt, but it doesn’t help much either. If you want to check the box for a degree, Cybersecurity degrees are great. If you want a degree that will actually help you in the long run, go CS.
