For one, the app does indicate I have port forwarding. I'm being told by an xfinity application through an xfinity device that port forwarding is occuring. Meanwhile, that port is closed. This creates a lot of ambiguity about what the app, that even core services like the browser admin page redirect to, are actually doing.
